Our goal is to provide a safe environment where students can focus and excel without distractions. For several reasons only students are allowed into the gym during gymnastics classes. This policy is in place foremost for the safety of the students and is strictly enforced without exception by both SpiritKids and the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation.
There are several areas with windows where parents may view from outside without disrupting classes. We also offer parents an opportunity to attend the last 15 minutes of class several times a year to observe their child’s progress and take pictures.
We offer an Open Gym each Saturday of the session at 1pm at the Hourglass Recreation Center which is open to everyone and is a great opportunity for additional practice. The fee is $15 per class. Reservations are required as space is limited. Reservations are taken through our website.

Parents are invited to attend the last 15 minutes of their students class on the last class of each session. The kids love it and it is a great opportunity to take pictures and videos so mark your calendars.
Our main goal is for your child to have fun as they build confidence, strength and body awareness and enjoy gymnastics! We teach proper form and technique FIRST. At times some skills might look too easy from your perception however doing even an easy skill with the proper form is our goal. It is much easier to teach a skill with proper form and technique than it is to try to re-teach a skill after bad habits have been formed. Gymnastics is a progressive sport and practice and consistency definitely helps. Our website offers many drills that can be practiced at home with in depth directions to help students practice successfully.
Our program enrolls 4 times a year. Registration is taken through our website. Each quarter is broken into 11-13 week sessions depending on the Holidays, etc. Currently enrolled students will have priority registration every quarter for one week prior to us opening registration to everyone on a first come/first serve basis. Most of our classes fill each quarter therefore we highly recommend taking advantage of the priority registration dates.
